Mission
The mission of the Policy and Information Exchange Subcommittee is to identify and coordinate national waste program policy issues and enhance information exchange to facilitate effective State Programs.
Past Work Products
For the past three years, the PIE Subcommittee has been active in implementing various aspects of the 2005 ASTSWMO Strategic Plan. The Subcommittee drafted and distributed a Disinvestment survey was distributed to the membership in 2006. ASTSWMO President Mike Savage presented the survey results to the membership in 2007. The results will be posted on the ASTSWMO website. In addition, a leadership survey was distributed to the membership in 2006. The results have been shared with the membership and will be posted on the website. In addition, the PIE Subcommittee is responsible for the overall content and organization of each of the Mid-Year and Annual Membership Meetings.

Electronic Communication Task Force

Mission
The mission of the Electronic Communication (EC) Task Force is to identify, investigate, and promote effective information green technology to enhance communications among ASTSWMO members.
Past Work Products
In the past, the EC Task Force was the lead on maintaining the overall content of the ASTSWMO website. They were also the lead in assisting the contractor in redesigning the new and improved ASTSWMO website. The Task Force also researched on-line survey tools for the ASTSWMO staff and recommended SurveyMonkey, which is now employed by the staff for survey development.
Current Work Efforts
The Task Force will develop a set of guidelines for maintaining and updating the ASTSWMO website. Questions such as, how often should the website be updated - how long before old documents are taken out of immediate online access and moved to some sort of storage area - any other guidelines we think would be appropriate to ensure that the website is kept current.
The Task Force is also researching how to make a listserve work for ASTSWMO.
