The Environmental Council of the States (ECOS), the nonprofit, nonpartisan association of state and territorial environmental agency leaders, is seeking an Executive Director for its office in Washington, DC. The position reports directly to the ECOS Executive Committee and the ECOS officers. The organization’s approximate annual budget is $5 million, with a current staff of 11.
The Executive Director is responsible for developing ECOS’s strategic vision, ideas, and policies and directing all ECOS management functions, activities, and programs. The individual will prepare annual and long-range strategic plans in consultation with the Executive Committee and the officers, keeping them informed about the ECOS’s operations and implementation of these strategic plans and initiatives.
